Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a disease characterized by white patches on the skin. The disease develops as a result of autoimmune melanocyte damage to the skin on the basis of genetic predisposition. The prevalence in the general population varies between 0.5-20% and can occur shortly after birth or at any time of life.

In vitiligo, lesions may be limited or diffuse. However, the knees, elbows, hands and feet, eyes and around the mouth are frequently involved. Vitiligo is diagnosed by dermatologic examination. Wood light examination is helpful in the diagnosis.

Vitiligo Treatment

Vitiligo is a skin condition in which white patches form as a result of pigment loss in certain areas of the skin. This disease occurs when melanin production in the skin stops and manifests itself with skin spots of different sizes and shapes.
